IT Infrastructure Architect

OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced IT Architect to lead the design, implementation, and administration of our organization's IT infrastructure and DevSecOps strategy. Tactically, this person will design,  implement, optimize and operate of IT and network computing systems including data center and cloud solutions (the IT infrastructure) to meet the needs of Construction Resources. This is a very hands-on position – design and build and fix.

This person will work closely with various teams to ensure the IT infrastructure supports business goals and aligns with best practices in security, performance, and cost management. The ideal candidate will have a background in software development, security, and operations, with expertise in Windows systems, automation, cloud computing, monitoring, and exposure to containerization.


JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Performance Indicators:

  • Comprehensive infrastructure that aligns with business objectives

  • Collaboration and training of IT staff

Responsibilities:

Support the Confidentiality, Availability and Integrity of CR IT/Cloud systems by architecting/designing/implementing/evolving/managing/administering the infrastructure to:

  • Perform well for users and the business processes
  • Avoid events/outages
  • Minimize impact of event/outages
  • Assist or captain responses to event/outages with speedy recovery and excellent communications with techs/engineers, users, and the VP and support desk managers.

Additionally,

  • Develop and maintain technology policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ensure IT security and compliance controls are effective including data protection, vulnerability discovery, and mitigation.
  • Lead systems administrators, technical development staff, and system operations on system and network infrastructure and cross-functional I/T projects.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and develop strategies for preventing future incidents.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Lead and/or perform and complete metrics, compliance reports, and assessments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience operating IT infrastructure (especially Microsoft), including cloud infrastructure and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong experience with implementing and operating cloud platform best practices (especially Azure).
  • Expertise in software development and secure coding practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and people skills, including an ability to connect with users and team members with positive outcomes and strong influence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • DevOps and/or Microsoft Certifications
  • Experience implementing and operating an Azure cloud estate, preferably using the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.

WORK LOCATION
Onsite – In order to fulfill responsibilities of the Architect position, this job is required to work in a specific Construction Resources manufacturing, production, or office environment.
