Cadence Associates Field Staff

Purpose: 

Cadence Associates Field Staff serve and offer ministry to the military through hospitality, discipleship, and Bible study, according to Cadence's vision. 

Minimum Commitment:  Two years appointment 

Location: Cadence Associates Field Staff determines the location with the VP for Field Ministries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General hospitality.
    • Menu planning for large gatherings.
    • Purchasing and preparing food.
    • Hosting special events as needed (holidays, parties, celebrations within the community).
  • Teaching Bible studies.
  • Pastoral Care of military personnel and their families.
    • Spiritual community.
    • Spiritual encouragement.
    • Spiritual guidance.
  • Maintaining contact with chaplains, military personnel, and dependents in the community.
  • Attend chapel regularly.
  • Financial.
    • Implement a fundraising strategy for administrative, personal, and ministry expenses (a minimum per month to be discussed for each location).
    • Maintain contact and give an update of the ministry with the support team quarterly.
  • Check-ins.
    • Maintain contact and give an update on ministry with their supervisor monthly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Born again, mature Christian with an affinity for the mission and work of Cadence International.
  • Because of the distinctly Christian emphasis of Cadence's mission work, willing to sign and comply with Cadence's International Code of Christian Conduct.
  • Demonstrated spiritual, emotional, marital (if applicable), and financial health.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills.
  • Must abide by Cadence policies and practices.
  • Specific Skills:
    • Able to handle administrative and financial tasks required by Cadence.
    • Ability to effectively manage a household for hospitality– general household cleaning, maintenance, and purchasing of provisions.
    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.

Character and Competencies for Success:

  • Independent workers, but also able to partner with others to do ministry within Cadence and outside of Cadence, as needed.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to spiritually self-feed.
  • Teachability - willingness to accept guidance and direction from all levels of leadership and learn from peers.
  • Communication skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Team skills - able to partner with others to do ministry, within Cadence and without.
  • Demonstrate planning and organization skills. 
  • Adaptability to culture, change, and tempo.
  • Servant leadership based in humility. 
  • Willingness to embrace, develop, and maintain a ministry that reflects the Cadence Road.
  • Heart for reaching the military and the world reflected through personal serving of others and sharing of resources.
  • Able to develop and teach Bible studies.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Cadence International is an evangelical mission agency dedicated to reaching the military communities of the United States and the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, talk, listen, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
