FLSA Status: Exempt


Work Location: The college strongly prefers candidates who can work on the Cottey College campus in Nevada,
Missouri to ensure effective collaboration and hands-on management of our systems. However, an exceptionally
qualified candidate may be considered for a remote position.
Reports to: Director of Information Technology


Job Summary: The Programmer 1 supports the college's ERP and student information systems, and related SQL
databases and web components located on Windows server and the cloud. This role manages the integration
between on-premises and cloud-based ERP systems, facilitates communication with stakeholders to understand
their needs/processes, and implements solutions using the College's ERP software. The specialist designs solutions
to improve data accuracy, accessibility, security, collaboration among departments, and reduce manual processes.
Duties also include writing complex Microsoft SQL scripts to update, select, report, and manipulate the college's
ERP data.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple integration services using Python, API calls, etc.
• Serve as SQL database expert providing advice for customer needs.
• Manage complex SQL database views and stored procedures.
• Use of PowerShell for automation.
• Possess expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies (training provided).
• Review current database practices for accuracy, efficiency, and improvements.
• Follow all department policies and procedures, and create documentation for new and modified
processes.
• Manage report writing and on-line form creation.
• Work collaboratively with other IT team members to maintain database-level security and essential
database standards.
. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand their needs and implement solutions to improve
efficiency.
• Maintains high-level of customer service in dealing with and responding to end-user requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Pvthon Microsoft SQL, PowerShell, Azure, html, APIs
Ability to work effectively and communicate with users with varying degrees of technical experience
Abtlltv^ufoccasionally work a flexible schedule to accommodate workflow requirements.
Up-to-date on the trends, developments, best practices in database and data reporting technology,
secure programming.
Ability to work independently to manage projects from start to finish.
Strong logical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to prioritize, plan and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Possess excellent customer support skills.


Education and Experience:
. A bachelor’s degree in computer or Information science from an accredited institution and 1 vear
experience working in IT; or 4 years programming experience.

• Must pass criminal background record check.
• Must pass reference checks.
