Cottey College seeks a dynamic individual to join the enrollment team as an international enrollment counselor and visit coordinator. This full-time role, with benefits, is responsible for recruiting international students and managing admissions-related events and campus visits for prospective students. This position requires flexible hours during peak periods, which may include evenings and weekends, to effectively meet recruitment and event objectives.
Position Summary: Under the general direction of the associate director of admissions, this position covers an assigned international recruitment territory and supports Cottey College's mission through admission counseling, financial aid advising, marketing, public relations, and recruitment activities. This individual will advise prospective international students and their families on admissions procedures, financial aid processes, and provide insights into Cottey’s philosophy, history, academic programs, campus life, and resources. Additionally, this role coordinates all aspects of admissions-related events, and the campus visit experience to ensure an engaging and informative experience for all visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach in an assigned international territory, building relationships with prospective students, families, and educational counselors.
- Ensure effective communication and support for international students throughout the admissions process, gathering all necessary materials in line with admissions procedures.
- Advise international students on admissions procedures, financial aid, and scholarships, as well as visa processes.
- Communicate Cottey College’s mission, academic offerings, and student life through one-on-one, small group, and formal presentations.
- Review applications, evaluate academic records, and compute grade point averages for prospective international students.
- Serve as a representative of Cottey College at international recruitment fairs, virtual events, and other outreach opportunities.
- Maintain and build upon existing international recruitment partnerships while identifying and developing new partnerships to increase international student enrollment.
- Manage and enhance Cottey’s portfolio of articulation agreements, vendor relationships, and agency partnerships to support recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Seek out innovative strategies to promote Cottey College to prospective international students.
- Plan and execute admissions events, such as open houses, preview days, and New Student Orientation, to engage prospective students and their families.
- Coordinate all aspects of the campus visit experience, including tour scheduling, meetings with faculty and staff, arranging meals and lodging, and overseeing student ambassadors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, families, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience.
- Manage communications with prospective students through written, oral, and electronic methods to promote events and coordinate campus visits.
- Support office- and campus-wide recruitment activities, including the student ambassador program, tele-recruiting, and campus visitation programs.
- Work collaboratively with the admissions team, financial aid office, international education coordinator, and other campus stakeholders to ensure a smooth admissions process for international students.
- Provide support for and actively participate in campus events and recruitment initiatives as needed.
- Manage a database of prospective students, ensuring accurate records and effective communication through all stages of the enrollment process.
- Assist with online applications, registrations, and deposit processes, maintaining accurate and updated enrollment information.
- Provide event follow-up and evaluate the success of events to inform improvements.
- Be an active member of the Cottey community, supporting enrollment initiatives, participating in events, and fostering a collaborative environment within the college.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the ongoing success of the enrollment management team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, online applications, and social media tools.
- Ability to be a team player, work collaboratively, be a leader, and work independently; demonstrate self-direction and motivation; creatively solve problems; establish priorities and effectively manage time and budgets.
- Ability to work with people of all backgrounds and experiences; effectively communicate the College’s policy guidelines to a diverse group of constituents.
Credentials and Experience
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Admission experience preferred.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to obtain a Class E driver’s license.
