POSITION SUMMARY

 

Elevate your culinary career by teaming up with the Premier Steakhouse in the Bellevue area. Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi is seeking accomplished and ambitious prep cooks for our premier steakhouse on the 31st floor of Lincoln Tower South. In this upscale environment, specializing in Prime Steaks and Global Seafood, you will be surrounded by first-class team members and have opporunities for upward growth.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are currently looking for experienced pantry cooks. Primary duties for this position will be cold prep and appetizer production at a fast pace. We are open 7 days a week serving lunch and dinner. Canidates need to be friendly, hardworking, team players, and flexible. Additional duties include:

  1. Performs all culinary duties and responsibilities to achieve overall success of the operation.
  2. Prepares food orders for guests using prescribed recipes and standards.
  3. Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including kitchen walk-in coolers and storage room, and upholds the standards of the Washington State Department of Health.
  4. Monitors proper par levels of all supplies at assigned stations.
  5. Communicates any problems or situations detrimental to property to the Manager or Chef on Duty.
  6. When applicable, interacts with guests in a manner that makes them feel comfortable and welcome.
  7. Sets up kitchen for operation: prepare produce, meats, and any food item needed for service.
  8. Maintains cleanliness in accordance with health department standards.
  9. Works in assigned locations and shifts according to business needs.
  10. Works with a sense of urgency to meet guests’ demands in a timely fashion.
  11. Ability to communicate effectively at all times, with all levels of employee
  12. Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  13. Must be able to use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to cookware, dishwashing machines, kitchen monitors, kitchen printers, and POS terminals
  14. Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the company.
  15. Reliable transportation to and from work

 

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED

Industrial grade kitchenware, dishwashers, coffee making machines, Aloha POS system.

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Knowledge of and ability to consistently prepare all food recipes and sub-recipes as instructed by the executive chef and/or general manager.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers as well as all levels of employees in both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  3. Ability to expedite tickets accurately and timely, and read/understand the kitchen monitors or printed tickets, behind the cooks’ line.
  4. Must have knives and other small hand tools as part of uniform
  5. Upholding Chef's food quality expectations with daily tastings
  6. Proper cooling and storing practices per health department rules and regulations
  7. Knowledge of proper techniques for making stock, sauces, sauteing, grilling, poaching, and plating.
  8. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  9. Ability to follow direction in a fast-paced environment; manage time effectively, and work well in a team environment.
  10. Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  11. Must possess excellent customer relations, sales, & communication skills.
  12. Must have, at all times during employment, a valid Washington State Health Card and any other government required cards.
  13. A desire to learn, grow, and a passion for progress in this career.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENTS

 

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

 

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

 

  1. Attend required training sessions & team meetings.
  2. Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  3. Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to purchase alcoholic beverages.
  4. Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee manual.
  5. Report any/all illegal activity to Management immediately.

 

GENERAL SIGN-OFF
