Go-Kart Mechanic
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mechanic will assist in the repair of our fleet of high speed electric go karts and any associated equipment. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform track and kart repairs and performance checks
- Maintain kart performance
- Repair equipment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the attraction in superior working order
- Keep accurate documentation of repair and parts inventory
- Responsible for maintaining annual, monthly, and weekly preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment and ensure schedules are carried out
- Responsible for maintaining work area and back end in a neat and orderly manner
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures all staff follows all safety rules
- Maintain supply of tools and machinery
- Ensure the pit, kart shop and track areas remain clean and safe
- Assist the staff with track operations
- Perform facility cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Willing to train and supervise other go-kart monitors
- Read, interpret diagnostics from manual
- Accept other maintenance duties to include, but are not limited to, building maintenance and help with general maintenance of other attractions
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); auto mechanic technical training or 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Weekends are a must!
- Mechanical repair experience in the go kart, golf kart or motorcycle field preferred
- Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and repairs
- Experience using multi-meter to check continuity – checks fuses and batteries
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing over 2/3 of time
- Walking over 2/3 of time
- Lifting is required
Mechanic - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate various tools (i.e. drills, ladders, chemicals, etc.). May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 300 lbs. May be required to work various shifts. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to extreme noise. Ability to wear personal protective gear.
