Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Therapist

The Behavior Therapist provides coaching and therapy to the clients of TBE. The Behavior Therapist helps to ensure the children with autism spectrum disorders, attention deficits, language and developmental delays are supported and developed impacting the success of the organization. Ensuring smooth operations of the organization, our core values and mission by being a friendly, welcoming ambassador to the organization’s clients, staff, and visitors. 
  
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 • Conduct one on one contact time with the child for the number of hours and programs/skills recommended by BCBA 
 • Engages the child with cooperation, collaboration and teamwork 
 • Completes all data collection, daily logs and graphing requirements for each session including objective and constructive notes 
 • Participates in approved parent and related professional observations and offers appropriate feedback and training 
 • Participates in, and completes, mandatory training for clinical requirements 
 • Attends regularly scheduled team meetings 
 • Ensures safety of children and own personal safety by following health & safety protocols 
 • Models, trains, and coaches newly hired Behavior Therapists as directed by Supervisor and/or Lead Therapist 
 • Assists in evaluating training needs as requested by Supervisor and/or Lead Therapist 
 • Support needs as front desk contact, assisting clients with checking in and out throughout the day as needed
 • Performs other duties as required

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

We have both part time and full-time positions available, scheduling may fluctuate during sessions and are all based on client availability. TBE operates Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, between 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Note: Full time classification is based on 30hrs/week, this can fluctuate based on client cancellations and needs. TBE will make every effort to maintain scheduled hours and your employment class (full time or part time) all based on client and organizational needs.
 
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  
 • In process or completion of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ABA or related field   
 • BCaBA certification   
 • RBT certification 
 • One year experience in ABA or related field 
 • Experience in medical/behavioral/mental health/therapy related organization 
 
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS  
 • RBT certification is encouraged and will be discussed as part of growth initiatives based on employer and employee needs 
 • CPR or BLS certification – online not accepted (within 90 days from hire)  
 • Communicates in a professional manner

 • Guest service mentality; has a genuine desire to serve the client 
 • Able to maintain high level of confidentiality Is able to work independently and in a team environment

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role may encounter patients with severe problem behavior in the form of aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviors and/or self-stimulatory behaviors.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to type, handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear, push/pull, stoop, bend/twist, lift up to 50 lbs.

 

TRAVEL
Travel (if any) is minimal and primarily local during the business day.
