Position Summary:
The Expeditor (Expo) is accountable for continuously maintaining the “window” where all the ready food is placed. Garnishing orders, packing to go orders, calling for needed items, checking on orders you are waiting for and sending back food product that does not meet company standards. Helping out servers, bartenders, or Togo departments as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures exceptional customer service is provided to the internal team and customers
- Responsible for continuously managing the “Expo Window” by getting food to where it is going quickly, and exceptional customer service throughout the scheduled shift.
- Maintains a clean and organized Expo kitchen area, including but not limited to dry and clean floors to ensure staff safety, refilling product as needed.
- Assists with restocking tasks to ensure a constant inventory of food product from the cooler and chip warmer, clean plates and glassware for employees to use.
- Ensures hot food goes out hot and cold food goes out cold.
- Communicates needs to cooks promptly and respectfully.
- Ensures food is not auctioned off to guests, fulfills guests requests and follows L.A.S.T when unsatisfactory situations arise with guests.
- Other duties as assigned/required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to maintain clean and hygienic work areas in accordance with Jack Allen’s Kitchen and Salt Trader and health code standards
- Knowledge of food sanitation and safety principles and practices
- Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Education, Certifications, and Licenses
- High school diploma or equivalant
- Texas Food Handler’s License
- TABC Certified
Experience
- Restaurant staff experience preferred
Working Conditions
The working conditions for this position include an indoor climate-controlled environment with minimal health and safety hazards. Hot plates and hot heat lamps in work area. Working conditions outdoors includes running out togo orders to the parking lot, retrieving linens from the shed outside. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, multitask, perform simple and repetitive tasks, attain precise attention to detail, control the work pace, follow instructions, work under supervision, handle confrontational situations, and work alone or in a group. Environmental conditions include working in an indoor setting with exposure to noise, congested areas, slippery surfaces, sharp edges, and handling sharp, hot, cold, and wet objects. Tobacco-free environment.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position primarily involve constant walking and standing and frequent bending forward and twisting at the waist, reaching above/below shoulder and chest level, elbow and wrist flexion and extension, neck twisting/turning/tilting, and foot pedal action. Carrying a large and small tray weighing up to 30 lbs over your shoulder is required. Occasional crouching, kneeling, and reaching behind the body. The individual in this position must have fine motor skills. Sensory demands include hearing, speech, vision, spatial perception, and tactile.
