JOB DESCRIPTION

Urban Air is seeking a part-time Mechanic! This role will be responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the Park. The Mechanic will assist in the repair of our Attractions and the fleet of Bumper Cars (Spin and Flip) and any associated equipment. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform arena and bumper car repairs and performance checks.
  • Maintain Bumper Car performance.
  • Repair equipment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the attraction in superior working order.
  • Keep accurate documentation of repair and parts inventory.
  • Responsible for maintaining annual, monthly, and weekly preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment and ensuring schedules are carried out.
  • Responsible for maintaining work area and back end in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Maintain supply of tools and machinery
  • Ensure the arena area remains clean and safe.
  • Perform facility cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Read and interpret diagnostics from manual.
  • Accept other maintenance duties to include, but are not limited to, building maintenance and help with general maintenance of other attractions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with repair of equipment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the Attractions in superior working order.
  • Advise Supervisor on any problems and/or potential problems discovered during maintenance of Attractions.
  • The ability to work various shifts and regular attendance is a requirement for the role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); auto mechanic technical training or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to work when park is not open to public.
  • Mechanical repair experience in the field preferred.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and repairs.
  • Experience using multi-meter to check continuity – checks fuses and batteries.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work in noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions
  • Move about facility and stand for long periods of time (over 2/3 of the time)
  • This position is very active and requires standing, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
  • Must be comfortable climbing on a ladder
  • Requires lift, push, pull,
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear

While performing the duties of this job, the Mechanic is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate various tools (i.e. drills, ladders, chemicals, etc.).

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Choose your own hours
  • On call
