Claims Specialist

The Role

Claims Specialist: To assist Claims Team with various specialty tasks as required, as well as investigate and adjudicate agent liability disputes as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Processing claim settlements in a timely manner and expediting settlements when needed.
• Review claims dashboard on a weekly basis for claims in pending agent liability assignment in order to maintain timeliness of agent invoicing.
• Request additional information from various agents and/or departments as needed to reach liability decisions.
• Assisting with Quick Claims and/or Inconvenience Claims.
• Utilize proper protocol to transfer, maintain, and/or remove liability from an agent in Utopia Claims system.
• Update the Utopia system with all the necessary information and adjudication remarks.
• Respond to agent disputes within 30 days.
• Prioritize partner carriers/agents as needed to maintain good business practice.
• Correspond respectfully and diligently in writing with agents.
• Other projects and duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need•    

• Bachelor degree preferred or a high school diploma with related claims experience.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment with difficult customers.
• Analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to all parties involved.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programs.
•  Ability to learn all internal computer programs.
• Willingness to take on additional projects, workload and maintain good synergy within the team environment.
