Fringe

Overview

This page allows you to set up recurring additional employee earnings (Car Allowance, GTL etc.).  These recurring earnings are unlike Auto Pays in that they do not appear on the pay entry screen.  They do however display when doing a check calculation preview.

Fields

Fringe Code – The earning code to use for this record.

Start Date – The date on which the fringe earning will begin.  If left blank, the start date will automatically be set to today's date.

End Date – The date on which the fringe earning will end.  If left blank, the end date will automatically be set to 12/31/2100 (forever).

Tabled – If checked, this indicates to use the company setup-defined fringe Calc Code, Frequency, Rate, Amount, Units, Minimum, Maximum and YTD Max instead of the settings on the employee’s fringe page.

Last Taken – For frequency-based fringe items only, this is filled in automatically with the current check date during payroll processing.  The system uses this date to determine when the next fringe earning should be paid according to the frequency setting for this item.

Calc Code – The calculation code to use when calculating the fringe earning amount.

Frequency – Indicates how often the fringe earning should be paid.  If left blank, it will be paid on each paycheck.

Misc Info – Any additional information or short notes for the fringe earning.

Rate – The rate per unit/hour to use when calculating the fringe earning amount.

Amount – The amount of the fringe earning.

Units – The number units/hours to use when calculating the fringe earning amount.

Minimum – The minimum amount for the fringe earning on a single paycheck.

Maximum – The maximum amount for the fringe earning on a single paycheck.

YTD Max – The calendar year to date maximum for the fringe earning.

Agency – The agency/third party payee where the fringe item should be sent.  Generally, this is for memo-type earnings only (i.e. those that have no effect on an employee’s pay, e.g. 401(k) match).
